Q: 1.  How does the mystic tan work?
A:  The Mystic Tan booth utilizes a spray-on process that applies an even layer of sunless tanning solution to the entire body.  The solution is composed of  DHA  and Aloe Vera.  The DHA is the component that creates the long-term tan color.  DHA is a simple molecule that reacts with proteins and amino acids in the skin's outermost layer to form a golden brown (tan) color.  The skin will begin to darken 2 to 3 hours after application and will reach its peak color approximately 24 hours after application.  The tan will last approximately 5-7 days.  The aloe vera is a liquid moisturizer that comprises over 65% of the solution.  After tanning, it is recommended to wait at least 4 hours before showering to give the solution ample time to be completely absorbed by the skin.

Q: 2.  What  are the three tanning levels?
A:  The three tanning levels are essentially darkness levels.  Level 1 will spray the tanner for a total of 24 seconds, Level 2 will spray for 27 seconds, and Level 3 will spray for 36 seconds.  The tanner can choose the desired level.  As the tanner increases in levels, the skin will get more solution applied to it, creating a slightly darker tan.

Q: 3.  How is the solution applied evenly into the skin?
A: The Mystic Tan booth uses a patented magnetan technology that ensures the solution is applied evenly.  As the solution passes through the booth's nozzles, the particles of solution are magnetized, taking on characteristics of tiny magnets.  The body's own magnetic properties attract the solution to all exposed surfaces of the skin.

Q: 4.  Is there anything I need to do to prepare before tanning?  What do I need to be aware of?
A: Before tanning, it isrecommended to exfoliate your skin.  This is not required, but it will ensure that the solution is applied to the cleanest layer of skin.  TO RECEIVE THE BEST RESULTS FROM THE MYSTIC TAN:

1.     WAIT AT LEAST 4 HOURS TO SHOWER AFTER TANNING.

2.     DO NOT MOISTURIZE OR SHAVE YOUR SKIN WITHIN 12 HOURS BEFORE TANNING AND AFTER TANNING AS
CERTAIN TYPES OF SHAVING CREAMS AND MOISTURIZERS MAY CONTAIN OILS THAT MAY PREVENT THE
MYSTIC SOLUTION FROM BEING APPLIED EVENLY INTO THE SKIN.

3.     MOISTURIZING YOUR SKIN DAILY AFTER THE 12 HOUR PERIOD WILL HELP PREVENT YOUR SKIN FROM
DRYING OUT AND THE TAN FROM WEARING OFF UNEVEN.

4.    FACTORS THAT CAUSE YOUR SKIN CELLS TO SHED AND REPLACE SUCH AS EXFOLIANTS AND CHLORINE
FROM SWIMMING POOLS WILL CAUSE THE TAN TO WEAR OFF FASTER.

FOLLOWING THESE TIPS WILL ENSURE THAT YOUR TAN IS APPLIED EVENLY AND WILL LAST ITS MAXIMUM POTENTIAL.

Q: 5.  Will the solution turn me orange?
A: NO.  Unlike self tanners, the mystic solution is not a cosmetic dye.  Applying self tanning creams will cause streaking and an orange color because excessive amounts are absorbed into the skin.  The mystic tan booth will ensure that an even layer of solution is applied onto the skin through its Magnetan technology.

Q: 6.  What should I wear in the Mystic booth?
A: Many people don't wear anything.  The room is completely private.  If you do wear a bathing suit or article of clothing, the DHA contained in the solution may cause permanent stains if it is sprayed directly onto the clothing.  A disposable shower cap is provided to the keep the solution out of your hair.  The mystic solution will not penetrate the hair follicle; therefore, it will not color or damage the hair.

Q: 7.  Will I be wet when I step out of the booth?
A: There may be a little of the mist still on the skin after stepping out of the booth if it has not dried yet.  It is not necessary to air dry or rub in the solution.  Any excess solution can be wiped off with provided towels just like you would wipe off when you get out of the shower.

Q: 8.  Is the Mystic solution safe?
A: All of the components of the mystic solution have been used in cosmetics and food products for decades and have been proven to be safe for use on the skin.  There is nothing in the solution that will harm the eyes.  Most individuals prefer to hold their breath during the actual misting process even though there is nothing in the solution that would cause any harm if you did breathe it in.  We recommend to consult your physician before using the mystic tan booth if you have a history of asthma or if you have any questions or concerns about the solution or process.

Q: 10.  Will the solution stain my clothes?

Q: 11.  If I tan in the mystic tan booth, can I also tan in UV beds and in the sun?
A: Yes.  There is nothing in the mystic tan tanning solution that would prevent  you from tanning in tanning beds or the sun.  In fact, a number of customers have found that tanning with UV rays and the Mystic Tan tanning solution actually gives them a better overall tan. If you do plan to use a tanning bed and the Mystic Tan booth in the same day, we recommend that you tan in the tanning bed first. Remember however, that the Mystic Tan tan does not give you any protection from UV rays.
